As a Trader, you will carry out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.  This includes executing all security trades within area guidelines and ensuring each trade is handled equitably and settled properly.  Trades will be conducted with sufficient speed and accuracy to successfully process the order flow.  In addition, you will monitor securities prices and communicate them to portfolio managers as needed.


  • As a trader, you will Execute Trades fairly and equitably with minimal market impact (e.g. prompt execution without bias toward originating source). In addition, you will ensure trades are settled properly and will apprise the Portfolio Managers and other appropriate parties of relevant information affecting securities prices (e.g. trading volume, etc.).
  • Your responsibilities will include Recording Trades Executed and, when appropriate or necessary, report execution to Portfolio Managers. You will ensure appropriate enabling documentation is in the file and that appropriate procedures and conventions (i.e. levels of collateral, etc.) are followed.
  • Successful trading involves Maintaining Daily Broker Contact to conduct trading and maintain records of broker commission dollars.
  • You will support the Investment Operations Team Lead ensuring Operational Efficiency, focusing on the day-to-day operation of the department.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent work experience
  • Series 57 license will be required within three months of employment
  • Knowledge of investments including terminology, instruments, general industry practices, market structures, execution techniques, regulatory environment, and relevant securities laws
  • Knowledge of the context in which trading activity occurs (i.e. favorable and unfavorable effects of various transactions on stock price, etc.) to execute trades with minimal market impact
  • Decisive, results driven, detail oriented, and motivated self-starter with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to market events
  • Analytical with independent problem-solving skills and demonstrated good judgement
