Nicholas A. Wilwerding, CFA, CAP®
President and Chief Operating Officer
Nick serves Bridges Trust Company as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). His responsibilities include portfolio and wealth management, security analysis, and investment policy development while also leading client development programs. As COO, Nick provides oversight of the Firm’s operations teams and is involved in the Firm’s strategic planning and execution of long-term projects and initiatives.
Nick received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance from Creighton University. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 2009 and the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® designation in 2019. Nick is currently a Board of Directors member for Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals and contributes his time to multiple philanthropic organizations. Demonstrating an admirable commitment to community service outside office hours, Nick sits on the CAP Advisory Board, Endowment Investment Committee at Creighton University and St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church & School.

Shelby Bruckner, CFP®
Sr. Portfolio Manager
Shelby serves Bridges Trust as a Senior Portfolio Manager. Her responsibilities include portfolio and wealth management, investment policy development, wealth and financial planning. She is also a member of the Investment Committee.
Shelby received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She has obtained various industry licenses and the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) designation. Shelby is actively involved in the American Cancer Society as a member of the Board of Directors.
John is a Portfolio Manager with Bridges Trust. Prior to joining the firm in 2021, John served as Special Assistant to the President and Board Liaison at Creighton University, where he helped manage the university’s board and was the primary point of contact between the President and his senior leadership team. John brings nearly ten years of communications, project management, and relationship management experience to his role at Bridges.
John earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Creighton University, and holds the FINRA Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law) license. When he’s not in the office, John enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and dogs, working in the garage, and finding new places to take his Jeep off-road.
Client Service Manager
Brenda is a Client Service Manager serving as a liaison between the business and its trusted clients. Her exceptional communication skills allow for the ongoing development of client relationships, delivering outstanding service to its partners and appointed Investment Relationship Manager.
Brenda’s experience in asset management, wealth management and banking supports the firm’s objectives in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments.
Haley serves Bridges Trust as a Portfolio Analyst. She previously served as a part of the Investment Research team for Bridges Trust in 2022. Her responsibilities include daily administrative review and individual relationship analysis.
Haley received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Analysis and Business Intelligence and Analytics from Creighton University in 2022. When she isn’t in the office or studying, Haley enjoys spending time with her rescue dog and volunteering and serving her community.
Cole serves Bridges Trust as a Portfolio Analyst. He previously served as a Client Services Associate for Bridges Trust in 2023. His current responsibilities include investment analysis, trading analysis, strategy, overseeing the opening of accounts, transfer of assets and delivery of solutions for Bridges clients.
Cole earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Master’s of Science in Family Finacial Planning from Iowa State University. He serves as a volunteer at First Covenant Church in Omaha. When not in the office or serving the community, Cole enjoys spending time with his family, cheering on Iowa State athletics teams, and travelling with his wife.
